When planning an olfaction experiment using Aurora Scientific’s 220A olfactometer, it is important to determine how odorants will be delivered once the vials have been configured. You can set odor delivery as manual or automated, the duration of odor presentation and in what order. That is where the sequencer module comes in. Configuring a pre-defined sequence of odor challenges permits automatic delivery of specific odors, at a set duration and order, all through software. The order of each odorant can be set manually or a random sequence can be generated. In addition, the entire sequence can be triggered through external software or specified animal behaviors (i.e. tongue lick or lever press) as well as Individual odorants within a sequence.
